I live with my husband, cats, dogs, ducks and chickens on 40 acres with a 7-acre wildlife pond, McCloy Pond , which has inspired many paintings for me and my husband. I have done art my entire life. My mother, who taught art, was my inspiration to also become an art teacher. Being retired after 34 years in the classroom, I now have time to create my own projects. After seeing some pictures of felted animals, I thought "I can do that!" and I could! But painting in wool is my favorite.
For several years now, I have been creating painted felted pictures, animals, scarves and other useful things I have won numerous awards in multiple media , participated in numerous workshops, and my work has been included in the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center's "Made in America." I hold a BS degree in Art Education and a MA in Reading Ed. "I love making my art because it fulfills a need to create. I am never happier than when I am figuring out a new way to present or come up with a new creative idea."
